Who we are

Maat Legal is a Management Services Organization (MSO) — an operating company that provides the systems, technology, intake infrastructure, and trained support staff that estate planning law firms run on.

We own and operate the platform. The attorneys we work with own and operate their law firms. That separation is intentional, ethics-compliant, and the foundation of a scalable business model.

What is an MSO?

A Management Services Organization is an operating company that provides non-legal business services — staffing, technology, workflows, and administration — to professional practices under a management services agreement. The MSO and the law firm are separate entities. The attorney retains full ownership of the practice and all client relationships. This structure is well-established in healthcare. It is the correct model for building scalable, investable infrastructure alongside legal practices — because it works within bar rules on law firm ownership, not around them. Maat Legal is the MSO. Our partner attorneys are the law firms.
